Getting started
- Open SetFor on an iPhone running iOS 26 or later.
- Tap Start 7-day free trial. This does not begin a purchase or automatic charge.
- Allow alarm access when iOS asks. SetFor does not need calendar permission.
- Choose Speak, Import image, or Manual. Before any alarm is created, SetFor shows you the schedule to review.
To check the system alarm path, open Settings in SetFor and use Ring in 15 seconds.
Create the schedule you mean
One date
Choose one future date and time. The schedule can remove itself after the alarm has finished.
Selected dates
Pick several concrete dates that share one alarm time.
Repeat with an end
Choose weekdays and stop after an inclusive end date or an exact number of occurrences.
Repeat forever
Use an open-ended weekly alarm only when you genuinely want the schedule to continue.
Speak an alarm
Speak is the fastest way to work by voice inside SetFor. It can create a new alarm or update an existing alarm.
- Tap Speak from the home screen.
- Say the schedule and, if helpful, the alarm name. For example: “Set Morning routine every weekday at 7 AM until September 15.”
- When you finish speaking, SetFor turns the request into a review screen. Check the name, dates, time, repeat rule, and end condition.
- Edit or remove any proposal, then tap the confirmation button only when it is right.
To change an existing alarm, say what to change, such as “Move Morning routine to 8 AM” or “Rename Airport pickup to Leave for airport.” You can always switch to the manual editor instead.
Import an image
Use Import image when the schedule is already visible in a calendar, booking, confirmation, or screenshot.
- Tap Import image from the home screen.
- Choose Use camera to take a photo or Choose a screenshot to select one from your photo library.
- SetFor finds clear future dates and times in the image and shows every proposed alarm in a review screen.
- Correct names, dates, or times, remove anything you do not want, then create only the alarms you confirm.
Image import is intentionally conservative. It does not guess at unclear text or turn a vague pattern into a repeating schedule without a reviewable result.
Siri & Shortcuts
Siri and Shortcuts work outside SetFor. Open SetFor once and allow alarm access. Say the app name as two words: Set For. For the quickest in-app voice flow, use Speak.
One exact date
- Say “Hey Siri, set an alarm in Set For.”
- When Siri asks “When should the alarm ring?”, answer with a future date and time, such as “Next Tuesday at 2 PM.”
- Siri confirms the alarm after SetFor creates it.
Temporary schedule
- Say “Hey Siri, set a temporary alarm in Set For.”
- When Siri asks “When should it ring?”, answer with a bounded schedule, such as “Tuesday and Thursday at 2 PM this week.”
- Siri confirms the schedule and its final date.
More supported phrases
- “Hey Siri, speak an alarm in Set For” opens the Speak flow.
- “Hey Siri, change an alarm in Set For” starts an edit flow.
- “Hey Siri, test Set For alarm” creates a normal visible alarm for 15 seconds from now. You can disable or delete it like any other alarm.
- “Hey Siri, open a new alarm in Set For” opens the full SetFor editor.
These actions also appear in Apple’s Shortcuts app and in SetFor Settings.
Troubleshooting
Alarm access was denied
Open iOS Settings, find SetFor, and allow alarm access. Return to SetFor and try the 15-second test again.
Speak is not ready
SetFor uses Apple’s on-device speech transcription. If it is unavailable, use Manual while your iPhone completes any required system language download, then try Speak again.
Image import found no alarms
Use a sharp image that includes an explicit future date and time. Image import does not guess at ambiguous text or hidden context. You can always enter the schedule manually.
An alarm did not sound as expected
Confirm the schedule is enabled, inspect its next occurrence, and run the 15-second test. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Focus or Silent mode state, and the affected alarm time when contacting support.
A temporary schedule is still listed
Automatic cleanup runs when SetFor launches or returns to the foreground. A two-hour grace period protects snooze and dismissal state after the final occurrence.
A lifetime purchase is missing
Open SetFor’s access screen and tap Restore lifetime purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
Siri does not recognize “Set For”
Open SetFor once after installation, grant alarm access, and use the phrases shown in SetFor Settings. The app’s spoken name is “Set For.”
